The NYS Asbestos Handler Initial is a 32-hour training course which educates the Student on the use of personal protective equipment, proper decontamination procedures, the sequence of events leading to abatement, abatement methods, clean-up and tent/glove-bag procedures and recordkeeping requirements. The course will also involve workshop activities including Tent Building, Decontamination System, Work Area Preparation, Glove-bag Practice, Removal Activities, Respiratory Protection/PPE and Clean-up & Disposal. Upon completion of this course, the Student will be licensed to handle any type of asbestos-containing material through removal, encapsulation, enclosure or repair. This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Environmental Hazard Remediation Provider & Technician Licenses.
As an added value to our Students, CNS can handle your NYSDOL Certification Application submission for a nominal $20 handling fee plus the $50 fee charged by the NYSDOL to obtain your certification.

Weekend/Evening Series: Two (2) Consecutive Weekend Days (Saturday & Sunday) from 8:00am to 4:00pm + Four (4) Consecutive Weeknights (5:00pm - 9:00pm) *MUST ATTEND ALL 6 DATES*
Weekend/Evening Series: Two (2) Consecutive Weekends (Saturday & Sunday x 2 ) from 8:00am to 4:00pm
Weeknight Series: Meets weeknights (as indicated) from 5:00pm to 9:00pm (*Must attend all 8 nights)
