Class Description

The Asbestos Allied Trades (Restricted Handler) Initial is a 12-hour (1.5-day) training course for any person who needs to perform limited tasks in relation to a NYS asbestos project or may incidentally disturb asbestos during the course of their employment. This course includes a review of federal, state and local regulations, health effects, respiratory protection, work practices and safety procedures as well as hands-on workshops consisting of respiratory protection, decontamination procedures/PPE, work area preparation and tent/glove-bag procedures.
