TRAINING COURSE POLICIES & REQUIREMENTS

Live/Online Training Course Policies & Requirements

1.  At least 24-hours prior to your scheduled course date, you must complete your registration via the link provided in your "ACTION REQUIRED" email, which includes uploading the following required documentation:

 

Mold Refreshers

  • Official NYS Issued Drivers License, Permit Card or ID Card

  • Proof of Prior Training (Certificate of Completion from your last Mold Training Course)

  • Current/Valid NYSDOL-issued Mold License

 

NOTE: If you have misplaced or lost your prior Certificate of Completion or Mold License, we will attempt to verify your previous training with the NYSDOL.

 

Asbestos Refreshers

  • Official NYS Issued Drivers License, Permit Card or ID Card

  • Proof of Prior Training (DOH-2832 Form from your last Asbestos Training Course)

  • Current/Valid NYSDOL-issued Asbestos License

 

NOTE: If you have misplaced or lost your prior DOH-2832 Form, we will attempt to verify your previous training with the NYSDOL.

 

Lead Refreshers

  • Official NYS Issued Drivers License, Permit Card or ID Card

  • Proof of Prior Training (Certificate of Completion from your last Lead Training Course)

  • Current/Valid USEPA-issued Lead License

 

NOTE: The USEPA has a zero (0) grace period for expired licenses/certifications.  If your current Lead license/certification has expired, you must retake an Initial course to regain your certification.

IF CNS IS UNABLE TO DETERMINE YOUR ELIGIBILITY TO ATTEND YOUR REFRESHER COURSE, AND YOU CHOOSE TO SIT AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE SAID COURSE BUT IT IS SUBSEQUENTLY DETERMINED THAT YOU WERE NOT ELIGIBLE DUE TO INVALID TRAINING CREDENTIALS; YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE APPLICABLE COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND.

 

2.  We recommend you join the course using the Invitation link provided after successful registration at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure you can access the course.  If you have any technical issues, email helpdesk@cnsenviro.com or call (833) 782-TRAIN (8724) and someone will be available to help you.

 

3.  You must be on-time for the course at its schedule date and time and return from any breaks on-time.  Late attendance in any form is strictly prohibited by the NYS Department of Health and the Instructor will not be able to admit you into the course.  If you think you may be late, please contact us at  training@cnsenviro.com or call (833) 782-TRAIN (8724) so we can make arrangements.  If you are more than 5 minutes late arriving to a course at its scheduled start time, you will not be eligible for a refund; however, you will be rescheduled for a future course date.  If you are more than 5 minutes late returning from any scheduled breaks, you will not be permitted back into the course and will not be eligible for a refund.

 

4.  Camera sharing and Meeting Link sharing is strictly prohibited.  Each Student must submit a separate Zoom Registration in order to receive a unique meeting link for the course.  Any Students found sharing a camera will be asked to rejoin the meeting separately.

 

5.  You will be required to verify your identity in the beginning of the course.  The Instructor will ask you to hold a form of photo identification up to the camera such as your Drivers License, Permit Card or other form of photo identification.

 

6.  You must attend the entire duration of this course in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.

 

7.  You must be on camera for the duration of the course. This will allow you to be seen by the Instructor (who will also be on camera) and be able to interact with them just like an in-person training course.

 

8.  During group discussions, you must unmute your microphone when directed by the Instructor.

 

9.  You must participate in any polls we distribute during the course.

 

10.  You must limit all distractions to the extent practicable. 

 

11.  You must complete a Course Evaluation Form in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.  The Instructor will distribute this in the “Chat” panel towards the end of the course or may email the form to you after the course has ended.

12.  FOR ASBESTOS and LEAD REFRESHERS: You will be required to take and pass a timed, proctored examination. The electronic examination and its associated access code will be provided by the Instructor through a weblink in the Zoom meeting’s Chat Panel.  You will be required to start the exam when directed by your Instructor, and complete the exam on your own, with no assistance by any person, book, manual, website or other form of assistance.  YOU AGREE THAT YOUR ANSWERS WILL BE OF YOUR OWN; THAT YOU WILL NOT SHARE EXAMINATION QUESTIONS, ANSWERS OR OTHER INFORMATION WITH OUTSIDE PARTIES; AND YOU WILL NOT ENGAGE IN ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT WILL DISHONESTLY IMPROVE YOUR RESULTS OR DISHONESTLY IMPROVE OR HURT THE RESULTS OF OTHERS.  If you are caught cheating or engaging in any of these prohibited activities, you will be removed from the course and will not be eligible for a refund.

Online System Requirements

In the event a “connection loss” occurs which results in the Student being disconnected from an online course, Student must make best efforts to immediately reconnect on their own or by immediately contacting CNS to assist in reconnecting the Student.

 

CNS will be available at least 30-minutes prior to each course start time and for the duration of the course to assist Students in Technical Support issues.  If you have any technical issues, email helpdesk@cnsenviro.com or call (833) 782-TRAIN (8724) and someone will be available to help you.

  • An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (WiFi, 3G or 4G/LTE)

  • Speakers and a microphone – built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth

  • A webcam or HD webcam - built-in or USB plug-in

  • Or, a HD cam or HD camcorder with video capture card

Processor and RAM requirements

 

Processor: 

  • Minimum - Single Core 1Ghz or Higher

  • Recommended - Dual Core 2Ghz or Higher (i3/i5/i7 or AMD equivalent)

 

RAM: 

  • Minimum - N/A

  • Recommended - 4 GB

 

Notes: Dual and single core laptops have a reduced frame rate when screen sharing (around 5 frames per second). For optimum screen sharing performance on laptops we recommend a quad core processor or higher.  Linux requires a processor or graphics card that can support OpenGL 2.0 or higher.

 

High DPI support

  • High DPI displays are supported in Zoom version 3.5 or higher

 

Bandwidth requirements

  • The bandwidth used by Zoom will be optimized for the best experience based on the participants’ network. It will automatically adjust for 3G, WiFi or Wired environments.

Standard Course Policies

REGISTRATION

 

Registration for any CNS training course must be submitted at least five (5) business days prior to the course start date.

 

Registrations submitted less than five (5) business days prior to the start of any class, will be accepted if room is available.  If registration is subsequently cancelled, Student will only be eligible for account credit; however, if Student is a no call / no show, Student will not be eligible for any type of refund.

ATTENDANCE

 

Full Attendance in any training course is mandated by local, state and/or federal regulations, to receive course completion certificates and subsequent applicable licensure.  Please do not register for a course if you are unable to attend each day in its entirety.

 

  1. Students are solely responsible and required to be on time for all training. Start and End times for each training course are listed on each specific course page.

  2. Students are solely responsible and must attend each day of training from start to finish as mandated by local, state and/or federal regulations. 

  3. Students who fail to report on time and/or fail to attend a training course in full are not eligible for a refund and will not receive course completion certificates as mandated by local, state and/or federal regulations. 

 

Students who fail to arrive at the defined start time and/or after lunch breaks to any training course may not be permitted to take/complete the course, at the discretion of the instructor, as mandated by local, state and/or federal regulations.   

 

Students who are required to re-take a training course due to missed training hours or late attendance will be offered the option to re-take the training course at a discounted price as a one-time courtesy; or makeup sessions may be available at the discretion of the instructor, where additional charges may apply.

EXAMS

 

For most classes, each Student is permitted three (3) attempts at passing the final course exam, as mandated by local, state and/or federal regulations, which will be clarified by the instructor at the time of the course.  Students who do not pass the final course exam will be offered the opportunity to retake the entire training course at a discounted price.  Students who do not pass the final exam will not eligible for a refund.

STATE LICENSING

 

As an added benefit to our Students, CNS offers NYSDOL License Application Handling and Submission services for some courses for an additional fee.  Please refer to each specific course page to determine if CNS offers this option for the course you are registering for.

 

If a Student opts out of this service, or if CNS does not offer this option, the Student is solely responsible for submitting and maintaining their own licensing paperwork and associated license fees to the state and/or federal agency.  Note: As mandated by local, state and/or federal regulations, CNS maintains a secured record of course completion certificates, in the event the Student loses or misplaces their completion certificate required for licensure.  CNS can provide a duplicate copy to the Student, where legal notarization fees may apply.

 

Student is also solely responsible for maintaining their licensure with the local, state and/or federal agency, by attending refresher training as required (annually or bi-annually) and remitting renewal license application(s) and fee(s).

 

COURSE LANGUAGE

 

It is the Student’s sole responsibility to ensure they can read, write and comprehend the language in which the training course is given.  Students who cannot complete a course due to language comprehension will not be eligible for a refund.

PROVIDER CANCELLATION

 

CNS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any training course due to insufficient enrollment.  In the event that CNS cancels or reschedules a training course, each Student will be given the option to be transferred to a future course date or receive a full refund.

 

STUDENT CANCELLATION or MISSED ATTENDANCE

 

Each Student is solely responsible for ensuring that CNS receives your course cancellation request within five (5) business days prior to the course start date, in order to receive a full refund.

 

Course cancellation or rescheduling requests received in less than five (5) business days will only be eligible for an account credit to be used within one-year of cancellation request. (no refunds)

 

No calls/no shows will only be eligible for an account credit to be used within one-year of the registered course start date. (no refunds)

 

In the event of missed training hours from late attendance where no make-up training is available, CNS, at its discretion, may provide a partial account credit to be used within one-year of registered course start date.

 

If make-up training is available by the Instructor and Student does not attend the scheduled make-up date(s), no refund or account credit will be made.

RESCHEDULING/COURSE TRANSFERS

 

When a Student opts to reschedule their attendance in a training course or, if a Student is transferred to a future training course at their request, it is the Student’s sole responsibility to arrive on time and attend the course in full.  Students who do not attend their rescheduled or transferred course will not be eligible for a refund or account credit.  Rescheduling requests must be received at least five (5) business days in advance of the course.  Requests received after five (5) business days may be subject to a rescheduling fee.

COURSE FEES

 

Course Fees are due in full prior to, or on the first day of the course, in order to attend the course and receive course completion certificates. All course fees include the training course, manuals, handouts and any other material distributed during the course.

 

CNS accepts Cash, Money Orders, Corporate/Personal Checks and all major credit cards (American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover).  Any other form of payment is not accepted.  Payments made with a corporate or personal check may be subject to a 5-7 business day clearance before course completion certificates will be released.

 

Course Fees for Groups of 3 or More

For groups of 3 or more, a 25% Nonrefundable Deposit is required in order to reserve seats in the same class, with the balance due in full prior to or on the 1st day of class.  In the event of cancellation by the Customer in less than 7 days prior to the course start date, the deposit will be retained by CNS for use on any training course within one (1) year.

 

REFUNDS

 

All approved and eligible refund requests will be submitted to our accounting department and can take up to 5-10 days to be processed, dependent on form of payment and credit card policies.  Our detailed policy is outlined as follows:

 

Full Amount Refund

  • CNS will provide a full refund via check or credit card if cancellation request is received at least five (5) business days prior to course start date.

 

Full Amount Account Credit

CNS will provide an account credit to be kept on file for one-year in the event of the following:

  • Registration received in less than five (5) business days prior to course start date; or

  • Cancellation request received in less than five (5) business days prior to course start date; or

  • No call/no show; or

  • Student does not comprehend course language.

 

Partial Amount Account Credit

CNS, at its sole discretion, may provide a partial account credit to be kept on file for one-year in the event of the following:

  • Late Attendance to regularly schedule course; or

  • Student withdraws after attending first four (4) hours or less on first day of course; or

  • Missed Training Hours and/or Days to a regularly schedule course.

 

No Refunds/No Account Credit

  • Registrations submitted less than five (5) business days prior to course start, when student is a no call / no show; or

  • Missed Make-up Training; or

  • Missed Attendance in rescheduled class; or

  • Missed Attendance in transferred class; or

  • Student withdraws after completing first full day of course; or

  • Students who do not pass final exam.

 

Students who opt in for CNS’s NYSDOL License Application Handling and Submission service, who do not receive course completion certificates due to any condition(s) outlined herein, will always receive a refund for the state license and CNS processing fees.

 

No refunds will be issued after 30 days of the original transaction date. Students requesting a refund after the 30-day period will be issued an account credit that will remain on file for up to one year.

PHOTO/VIDEO DISCLAIMER

CNS reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any course held or sponsored by CNS, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. CNS may use the photograph/video in print or digital publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by CNS.  To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed/videoed subject, parent or legal guardian.  By participating in a CNS course or by failing to notify CNS in writing of your desire to not have your photograph used by CNS; you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify CNS from any and all claims involving the use of your picture or likeness.  Any person or organization not affiliated with CNS may not use, copy, alter or modify CNS photographs, graphics, videography or other similar reproductions or recordings without the advance written permission of an authorized designee from CNS.

COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION

The information you provide to CNS as part of your training course is not, and will never be sold to any third-party.  CNS will not disclosure your personal information to any party with exception to the federal, state and/or local agency to which your training course is regulated by, and of which we are required to provide such information to.  Information you provide on your Course Evaluation Forms at the end of your course, may be used by CNS for marketing purposes.

SMS (TEXTING) POLICY

 

Collection of Phone Numbers

We collect your phone number(s) only when you voluntarily provide them to us, like during transactions, inquiries, or when you sign up for our promotional messages. You can opt in to receive these SMS messages by verbally agreeing when you book over the phone with us, or in the checkout by checking your SMS sign-up and providing your phone number.

 

Use of Phone Numbers For SMS

Your phone number(s) are primarily used so we can communicate with you on classes you booked with us, classes you told us you were interested in and requested a follow-up from us,  to send you invoices or payment links, or to provide you with personalized services, updates, and promotional offers. These text messages may relate to our products, services, discounts, or any updates that we think may interest you.  We may also provide special discounts or offers through SMS messages. SMS messaging charges may be applied by your carrier. We will only share your phone number with our SMS provider, subject to their privacy policy.  We use both WIX and Ring Central to send all SMS communications to users who have opted in. Opting Out of Marketing Messages

If at any time you wish to stop receiving marketing SMS from us, you can opt out by

-Texting STOP to opt-out

-Texting UNSUBSCRIBE to opt-out

-Texting CANCEL to opt-out

-Texting QUIT to opt-out

 

Please note that the opt-out process may take up to 10 business days to become effective. During this period, you may still receive some messages from us.

 

Privacy of Phone Numbers

Once you have opted out, we will not send you any more SMS messages, nor will we sell or transfer your phone number to another party.  The information you provide to CNS is not, and will never be sold to any third-party.  CNS will not disclosure your personal information to any party with exception to the federal, state and/or local agency to which your training course is regulated by, and of which we are required to provide such information to. 

 

Access to Promotions and Discounts

You do not need to sign up for SMS Messages to receive information about current promotions.  You can also sign up for Email Messages.  Codes and promotions are available for a limited time and may be changed or removed at any time.

 

Changes to This Policy
