Responsibilities:
Be able to work both in the Field performing Surveys and Air/Project Monitoring, and in the office (as needed) assisting in the completion of reports and obtaining required paperwork from contractors and subcontractors
Be able to communicate with on-site supervisors and workers and regulatory agencies
Write legible field documents and create legible field sketches indicating measurements and sample/material locations
Maintain project logs and chains of custody in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in conducting asbestos, lead and/or mold surveys and/or air/project monitoring
Working knowledge of EPA, NYS and NYC Asbestos, Lead-based Paint and Mold Regulations
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Be able to read project reports, specifications and drawings
Be able to work with regulatory agencies in a professional manner
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Email and the Internet
Professional appearance
Reliable method of transportation
Able to transport company-owned equipment to and from job sites in a safe manner
Able to transport samples from job site to laboratory after shift
Willingness to travel out of town and be available for night and weekend work as needed
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Certificates and Licenses (all or any):
Asbestos
NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector
NYSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician
NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator License
NYSDOL Asbestos Project Designer a plus
NYSDOL Asbestos Management Planner a plus
Out of State Asbestos Licenses a plus
NIOSH 582 certification desirable
Lead-based Paint
EPA Lead-based Paint Inspector Certificate
EPA Lead-based Paint Risk Assessor Certificate
EPA Lead-based Paint Project Designer Certificate
EPA Lead-based Paint RRP Certificate
Out of State Lead-based Paint Licenses a plus
Mold
NYSDOL Mold Assessor
NYSDOL Mold Remediation Contractor
Out of State Mold Licenses a plus
Physical requirements:
Conducting site inspections
Climbing ladders and stairs
Crawl in spaces to access a variety of areas
Physically traveling parcels of land and/or buildings
Collection of material samples
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry equipment
