CNS Environmental is looking for well-versed individuals with extensive experience to become part of our team of Training Instructors at our rapidly growing Training School in Plainview, NY.
YOU choose your hours!
Position will be on a Part-Time/As-Needed Basis with future opportunities to expand hours.
We welcome all training instructors, retirees, adjunct professors, veterans and industry professionals to apply! Multiple positions are available to be filled immediately!
Responsibilities:
Instructing our approved Asbestos, Lead Paint, Mold and/or OSHA Training Courses (English)
Monitoring and assessing Student progress
Directing and Overseeing the proper execution of Hands-on Workshop Activities
Pre-course preparation/Post-course clean-up
Reviewing Student course paperwork for accuracy/correcting errors
Proctoring and grading required course examinations
Executing required Training Provider course paperwork
Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills:
At least 5+ years’ experience in: Environmental Consulting, Environmental Contracting, Health & Safety and/or Environmental Health & Safety Training Instructor
Associates or Bachelors Degree in one of the following*: Environmental Health Science, Industrial Hygiene, Community Health, Other related science (*If your degree is in a non-health related field but you possess the remaining qualifications, you may be required to take and pass a NYS-administered exam in order to qualify for this position.)
Currently hold one or more of the following: USEPA, NYS and/or NYC Asbestos License(s), USEPA Lead-based Paint License(s), NYS Mold License(s), OSHA Trainer certifications
Diplomas, Certificates or Coursework in Adult Education teaching methods a PLUS!
Strong understanding of teaching techniques and how to keep students engaged
Robust knowledge of Federal, State and Local environmental regulations
Excellent computer skills (Dropbox, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, etc.)
Excellent technical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow directions & execute our approved training programs as written
Ability to work well with others
Detail-oriented
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
