Initial Course

OSHA HAZMAT Emergency Response Technician

The OSHA HAZMAT Emergency Response Technician (Hazardous Materials Technician) course is a 24-hour training course designed in accordance with the OSHA HAZWOPER Standard, specifically Part 1910.120 (q); and is required for individuals who respond to releases or potential releases for the purpose of stopping the release. After successful completion of the course, Students will be able to understand, recognize and respond to Hazardous Materials incidents, as well as understand: How to implement the employer's emergency response plan; The classification, identification and verification of known and unknown materials by using field survey instruments and equipment; How to function within an assigned role in the Incident Command System; How to select and use proper specialized chemical personal protective equipment; Hazard and risk assessment techniques; How to perform advance control, containment, and/or confinement operations within the capabilities of the resources and personal protective equipment available with the unit; Implement decontamination procedures; Termination procedures; and Basic chemical and toxicological terminology and behavior.

OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Electrical Safety

This 4-hour OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Electrical Safety course will discuss the control of hazardous energy and provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by students and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired. This course also covers OSHA Electrical Safety Regulation 1910.301�399 Subpart S, types of electrical injuries, and protecting workers who work on or near to electrical conductors and equipment.

This 2-Hour OSHA Electrocution Prevention training course is intended to help workers understand and avoid electrical hazards to keep themselves and their coworkers safe. Topics include: basics of electricity, common electrical hazards and electrocution risks, best safety practices, Lockout/Tagout procedure, hazard recognition, Arc Flash Prevention, and fatality/injury statistics.

OSHA Fall Prevention (Authorized User)

This 4-hour OSHA Fall Protection Authorized User training course is designed as a more job-specific training course for individuals who need to understand fall protection for their regular on-the-job activities. This course will ensure that individuals understand OSHA Fall Protection Standards and will teach them how to be compliant. Topics include OSHA regulations, traditional fall protection, fall restraint systems and fall arrest systems.

OSHA Stairs and Ladders

This 2-hour OSHA Stairways and Ladders course is intended to teach individuals to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards. Topics include: The nature of fall hazards in the work area; the correct procedures for erecting, maintaining, and disassembling the fall protection systems to be used; the proper construction, use, placement, and care in handling of all stairways and ladders; the maximum intended load-carrying capacities of ladders used; and OSHA standards related to Stairs and Ladders

OSHA Respiratory Protection

This 2-hour OSHA-required Respiratory Protection course is intended for any worker who is must wear a respirator on the job. Topics covered in this course include: OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard; why the respirator is necessary and how improper fit, use, or maintenance can compromise the protective effect of the respirator; limitations and capabilities of the respirator; use in emergency situations; how to inspect, put on and remove, use and check the seals; procedures for maintenance and storage; and recognition of medical signs and symptoms that may limit or prevent effective use.

OSHA Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

This 2-Hour OSHA Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) course covers the basics of OSHA's regulations for personal protective equipment and give students an overview of the various types of personal protective equipment from head to toe. Topics include: When and What PPE is necessary; How to properly put on, take off, adjust and wear the PPE; The limitations of the PPE; and Proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of PPE.

OSHA Confined Space Entry

This 8-hour OSHA Confined Space Entry course is designed to assist companies in complying with OSHA's Part 1910.146 Permit-Required Confined Spaces standard. After completion of the course, Students will understand: Key elements of the OSHA Permit-Required Confined Spaces standard; Key concepts and terminology; Confined Spaces PPE; Permitting; Hazards, and how to identify, evaluate and control them; Duties and Responsibilities of the Entrant/Attendant and Entry Supervisor; and Required monitoring, ventilation, non-entry rescue, entry rescue and self-rescue.

OSHA Hazard Communication

This 2-hour OSHA Hazard Communication course is intended to provide information about the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200) and NYS "Right to Know" laws including the use of hazardous chemicals in the workplace, requirements for GHS-compliant container labels and safety data sheets (SDS�s), written Hazard Communication program requirements and and where to find information regarding exposure, personal protective equipment, first aid, proper handling and storage. This course also provides a general overview/introduction to indoor air contaminants including mold, asbestos, lead and IAQ issues.

OSHA Workplace Violence Prevention

This 4-hour OSHA Workplace Violence Prevention course is designed to raise the level of awareness of every employee to mitigate the potential for violence or becoming the victim of violence in the work place. It helps proactive organizations reduce disruptive incidents; prevent workplace violence; lower the risk of injury; improve customer and employee relations; and reduce exposure to liability.

OSHA HAZWOPER Supervisor Initial

The OSHA HAZWOPER Supervisor Initial course is one-time 8-hour training course required for those who supervisor HAZWOPER workers. This course meets the Federal OSHA HAZWOPER training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4) for General Industry and 29 CFR 1926.65(e)(4) for Construction, for on-site managers and supervisors directly responsible for, or who supervise employees engaged in Hazardous Waste Operations. PREREQUISITES: 40-Hour HAZWOPER Initial (for Supervisors who oversee workers with 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification); or 24-Hour HAZWOPER Initial (for Supervisors who oversee workers with 24-Hour HAZWOPER Certification) SPECIAL NOTE: In order to full comply OSHA regulations, the Supervisor must also complete their 8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher in the same year in which they become a Supervisor.

NYCDOB SST Local Law 196 Training

New York City's Local Law 196 of 2017 requires that certain workers and supervisors at certain types of job sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager receive 40 or 62 Hours of Safety Training. The Local Law was phased in from 2018 through 2020 and requires that Workers receive 40 Hours of Safety Training to obtain a Site Safety Training (SST) Worker card, and Supervisors receive 62 Hours of Safety Training to obtain a SST Supervisor Card. Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) Awareness

This 4-Hour Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) Awareness course is intended to help Students understand ICRA procedures when performing construction, renovation, maintenance and/or demolition activities in healthcare or other occupied facilities - to minimize the risk of spreading infections to hospital patients, staff and visitors. *This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Environmental Hazard Remediation Provider & Technician Licenses.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach

The OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach training course focuses on providing entry level construction workers with a general awareness of potential construction safety and health hazards that may be encountered at a construction site, and how to recognize and prevent them. The OSHA Construction Industry Outreach programs are designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926 regulations and highlight hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention within the construction field. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach

The OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach training course covers the topics included in the 10-hour course, but focuses on providing more in depth training to construction workers with some type of safety responsibilities on their construction site(s). The OSHA Construction Industry Outreach programs are designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926 regulations and highlight hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention within the construction field. OSHA Asbestos Awareness

This 2-Hour OSHA Asbestos Awareness course is designed for any type of employee who may come into contact with (but does not disturb) known or presumed asbestos-containing material, as well as Local Education Agency (LEA) maintenance and custodial staff as set forth within EPA requirements. At a minimum, this training course covers the history and identification of asbestos; federal, state and local regulations; asbestos health effects; respiratory protection & personal protective equipment (PPE); the recognition of damage, deterioration, and delamination of asbestos-containing building materials; and safe work practices and procedures.

OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Awareness

This 4-Hour OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness course will provide participants with the knowledge required to identify bloodborne pathogens and to protect against exposure. Main topics covered in this course include transmission, prevention/control of exposure, incident response, and emergency procedures. This course meets the minimum training requirements set forth in 29 CFR 1910.1030 established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) *This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Environmental Hazard Remediation Provider & Technician Licenses.

OSHA HAZWOPER Initial

The OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) is a 40-hour initial training course designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 and is required for workers who perform clean-up operations or other activities that expose them or could expose them to hazardous substances, including hazardous waste. This training also covers emergency response workers. Following the completion of this course, students must receive three-days of on-site field experience with a trained and experienced supervisor, prior to being able to work. Course Topics include: -Regulatory Overview of applicable OSHA and EPA regulations -Principles of Toxicology and Hazards -Potential Exposures/Human Responses -Health and Safety Considerations and Hazards -Employee Work Practices -Confined Space Entry Procedures -Material Handling -Respiratory Protection -Personal Protective Equipment -Decontamination Programs -Medical Surveillance -Emergency Response *This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Environmental Hazard Remediation Provider & Technician Licenses.

OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher

The OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher course is an annual 8-hour training course designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 and is required for HAZWOPER-certified workers who perform clean-up operations or other activities that expose them or could expose them to hazardous substances, including hazardous waste. Course topics include a regulatory review, toxicology, hazard recognition, health and safety considerations, personal protective equipment and respiratory protection, confined space entry, medical surveillance and emergency procedures.

OSHA Infectious Disease Control & Common Infectious Pathogens Awareness

This 4-Hour OSHA Infectious Disease Control & Common Infectious Pathogens Awareness course provides an overview of the risks and realities of infectious disease exposure incidents in the work environment and reviews the requirements of complying with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard while providing practical information on various diseases and protection strategies for workers. After successfully completing this course, Students will know common terms; common diseases such as Hepatitis A, B & C, Tuberculosis, Meningitis, MRSA and COVID-19; the infectious disease process and how PPE helps prevent their spread; techniques for decontamination; OSHA requirements for protecting workers; how to minimize exposure incidents; and post-exposure requirements.

OSHA Lead Awareness

This 4-Hour OSHA Lead Awareness course is designed to learn proper work practices to mitigate lead-based paint exposure to workers and building occupants. Per OSHA requirements, this course covers health effects of lead exposure and various paint related activities required to comply with OSHA's Lead in Construction Standard (29 CFR 1926.62) and for General Industry (29 CFR 1910.1025).

This 4-Hour OSHA Mold Awareness course is designed to learn the basics of the environmental hazards of Mold, and to identify which required Mold certifications would be most applicable to your line of work. This course is intended for anyone interested in learning basic information about Mold and its effects on people, buildings and the environment. Students will learn and discuss the myths, misinformation and facts associated with Mold.

OSHA PCB Awareness

This 4-Hour PCB Awareness is designed to assist building owners and abatement contractors who may be handling PCB-containing or PCB-contaminated building materials during planned renovation or repair activities; or planned PCB abatement efforts in older buildings, in accordance with 40 CFR Part 761. *This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Environmental Hazard Remediation Provider & Technician Licenses.

OSHA Silica Awareness

This 4-Hour Silica Awareness course is appropriate for individuals who may be exposed to Respirable Crystalline Silica in the course of construction activities; which may include cutting, sawing, drilling, and crushing of concrete, brick, ceramic tiles, rock, and stone products. As of September 23, 2017 OSHA requires employees that may be exposed to Respirable Crystalline Silica to have awareness training. Topics covered per OSHA 1926.1153, include the fundamentals of Silica and Respirable Crystalline Silica, basic health hazards and risks related to exposure, PPE, engineering controls and safe work practices, OSHA�s permissible exposure limits, specific requirements for exposure controls, competent person, and training and record keeping. We�ve taken the time to break down these fairly new regulations to make sure you�re protected and in compliance!

Initial Course

Asbestos Air Sampling Technician Initial

The Asbestos Air Sampling Technician Initial is a 2-day (16-hour) training course for Students who need to perform air sampling inside an abatement enclosure as required by the NYSDOL ICR 56 regulations. Course topics include work practices, air sampling procedures, and lab analysis methods. The students will also demonstrate hands-on practice by participating in a respirator workshop, a decontamination procedures/PPE workshop, an air sampling workshop, and a calibration/paperwork workshop.

Asbestos Air Sampling Technician Refresher

This Asbestos Air Sampling Technician Refresher is an annual 4-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Air Sampling Technician Certification. This course covers the role and duties of the Air Sampling Technician, including air sampling procedures and work area practices.

Asbestos Allied Trades Initial

The Asbestos Allied Trades (Restricted Handler) Initial is a 1.5 day (12-hour) training course for any person who needs to perform limited tasks in relation to a NYS asbestos project or may incidentally disturb asbestos during the course of their employment. This course includes a review of federal, state and local regulations, health effects, respiratory protection, work practices and safety procedures as well as hands-on workshops consisting of respiratory protection, decontamination procedures/PPE, work area preparation and tent/glove-bag procedures.

Asbestos Allied Trades Refresher

This Asbestos Allied Trades (Restricted Handler) Refresher is an annual 4-hour training course that covers the functions of a Restricted Handler and work practices including decontamination systems, entry/exit procedures and work area preparation.�

The Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Initial is a 5-day (40-hour) training course for Students who want to be able to supervise Asbestos Workers (but they can also perform the responsibilities of an Asbestos Worker as well). Course topics include supervisory duties and work practices; air sampling procedures; lab analysis methods; contract and job specifications; legal liabilities and safety procedures. Students will also participate in Hands-on Workshops including Tent Building, Decontamination Systems, Work Area Preparation, Glove-bag Practice, Respiratory Protection/PPE, Air Sampling, Removal Activities and Clean-up & Disposal.

This Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Refresher is an annual 8-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Certification, that focuses on regulatory updates, Asbestos Supervisor functions and work practices including decon systems, work area preparation and procedures for abatement, clean-up, waste-out and minor projects.

Asbestos Handler (Worker) Initial

The Asbestos Handler (Worker) Initial is a 4-day (32-hour) training course for Students who want to perform Asbestos Removal activities. Course topics include the use of personal protective equipment, proper decontamination procedures, the sequence of events leading to abatement, abatement methods, clean-up and tent/glove-bag procedures and recordkeeping requirements. Students will also participate in Hands-on Workshop Activities including Tent Building, Decontamination System, Work Area Preparation, Glove-bag Practice, Removal Activities, Respiratory Protection/PPE and Clean-up & Disposal. Upon completion of this course, the Student will be able to handle any type of asbestos-containing material through removal, encapsulation, enclosure or repair.

This Asbestos Handler Refresher is an annual 8-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Handler Certification that covers the functions of the Asbestos Handler and work practices including decon systems, work area preparation and procedures for abatement, clean-up, waste-out and minor projects.

Asbestos Inspector Initial

The AHERA Asbestos Inspector Initial is a 3 day (24-hour) training course where Students will learn how collect bulk samples and how to survey, identify, record and report upon asbestos containing materials associated with any building in compliance with existing regulations or in performance of investigative studies. The course focuses on inspection procedures including the Pre-abatement Inspection, the Inspection Process, Bulk Sampling Protocols, Lab Analysis and the Assessment of Asbestos Material and more! Hands-on Workshops included in this course consist of Respiratory Protection/PPE, Bulk Sampling and a Walk-through Survey.

Asbestos Inspector Refresher

This Asbestos Inspector Refresher is an annual 4-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector Certification. This course reviews the duties of the Asbestos Inspector including the pre-abatement inspection, the inspection process, bulk sampling protocols, lab analysis and the assessment of asbestos material.

Asbestos Management Planner Initial

The AHERA Asbestos Management Planner Initial is a 2-day (16-hour) training course where Students will learn how to develop an Operations and Maintenance program, assemble and submit a Management Plan, evaluate and interpret survey results, perform Hazard Assessments, evaluate and select Control Options and more! Upon completion of this course, the student will have the ability to assess the hazard posed by asbestos and recommend the appropriate response actions. *IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE: 24-Hour ASBESTOS INSPECTOR INITIAL COURSE REQUIRED

Asbestos Management Planner Refresher

This Asbestos Management Planner Refresher is an annual 4-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Management Planner Certification. This course focuses on the role of the Management Planner involving the management plan, legal liabilities, recordkeeping and evaluating the site and hazard assessments. *IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE* Valid NYS Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Management Planner Certification Required.

Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Initial

The Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Initial is a 2-day (16-hour) training course for any person who performs operations, maintenance and repair activities of small scale and short duration which may disturb asbestos (typically facility or building maintenance staff). This course provides the Student with information on respiratory protection, regulations, health effects, abatement control options and more; and also includes Hands-on Workshops for Respiratory Protection/PPE, Tent Building and Cleanup.

Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Refresher

This Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Refresher is an annual 4-hour training course that concentrates on work practices, recognizing damaged ACM, abatement methods and the purpose of operations and maintenance.

Asbestos Project Designer Initial

The Asbestos Project Designer Initial is a 3-day (24-hour) training course where Students will learn how to plan and design any NYS asbestos project through discussion of work practices, air sampling procedures, contract and job specifications, legal liabilities and safety procedures. Hands-on Workshops included with this course consist of a contracts and specifications workshop, a design/cost estimation workshop and a field trip/walk-through exercise.

Asbestos Project Designer Refresher

This Asbestos Project Designer Refresher is an annual 8-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Designer Certification. This course focuses on the role of a Project Designer which includes design considerations, liabilities, contracts /specifications, cost estimation, recordkeeping and work practices.

Asbestos Project Monitor Initial

The Asbestos Project Monitor Initial is a 5-day (40-hour) training course that covers the roles and responsibilities of the Project Monitor including air sampling procedures, lab analysis methods, contract/job specifications, legal liabilities and more. Students will participate in Hands-on Workshops including respiratory protection/PPE, air sampling strategies, visual inspections and contracts/specifications/drawings. Upon completion of the course, Students will be able to oversee the scope, phasing, timing and abatement methods of any NYS asbestos abatement project.

Asbestos Project Monitor Refresher

This Asbestos Project Monitor Refresher is an annual 8-hour training course required to maintain a person's NYSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor Certification. This course covers the role and duties of the Project Monitor, including recordkeeping, air sampling procedures, on-site documentation requirements and work practices including supervision, clean-up procedures and visual inspection techniques.

The Mold Abatement Worker Initial course is a 2-day (16-hour) course where Students will learn how to complete mold remediation activities while protecting themselves and building occupants. Course topics will be taught using interactive methods including demonstrations, discussions, problem-solving, role-playing activities and the use of question and answer techniques between the Instructor and the Students. Hands-on Workshops included with this course consist of PPE/Respiratory Protection, Work Area Setup and Decon Procedures, and Remediation/Cleanup Procedures.

NYS Mold Abatement Worker Initial (SPANISH)

In this course, Students will learn basic First Aid, how to prevent injury and illness and critical skills needed to respond to and manage medical, injury, environmental and Opioid-associated emergencies including the life-saving skill of Adult CPR and AED use, until emergency medical services arrives. NYCDOB SST Local Law 196 Training

New York City's Local Law 196 of 2017 requires that certain workers and supervisors at certain types of job sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager receive 40 or 62 Hours of Safety Training. OSHA Asbestos Awareness

This 2-Hour OSHA Asbestos Awareness course is designed for any type of employee who may come into contact with (but does not disturb) known or presumed asbestos-containing material, as well as Local Education Agency (LEA) maintenance and custodial staff as set forth within EPA requirements. At a minimum, this training course covers the history and identification of asbestos; federal, state and local regulations; asbestos health effects; respiratory protection & personal protective equipment (PPE); the recognition of damage, deterioration, and delamination of asbestos-containing building materials; and safe work practices and procedures.

This 4-Hour OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness course will provide participants with the knowledge required to identify bloodborne pathogens and to protect against exposure. The OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) is a 40-hour initial training course designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 and is required for workers who perform clean-up operations or other activities that expose them or could expose them to hazardous substances, including hazardous waste. This training also covers emergency response workers. Following the completion of this course, students must receive three-days of on-site field experience with a trained and experienced supervisor, prior to being able to work. Course topics include a regulatory review, toxicology, hazard recognition, health and safety considerations, personal protective equipment and respiratory protection, confined space entry, medical surveillance and emergency procedures.

This 4-Hour OSHA Infectious Disease Control & Common Infectious Pathogens Awareness course provides an overview of the risks and realities of infectious disease exposure incidents in the work environment and reviews the requirements of complying with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard while providing practical information on various diseases and protection strategies for workers. After successfully completing this course, Students will know common terms; common diseases such as Hepatitis A, B & C, Tuberculosis, Meningitis, MRSA and COVID-19; the infectious disease process and how PPE helps prevent their spread; techniques for decontamination; OSHA requirements for protecting workers; how to minimize exposure incidents; and post-exposure requirements.

This 4-Hour OSHA Lead Awareness course is designed to learn proper work practices to mitigate lead-based paint exposure to workers and building occupants. This 4-Hour PCB Awareness is designed to assist building owners and abatement contractors who may be handling PCB-containing or PCB-contaminated building materials during planned renovation or repair activities; or planned PCB abatement efforts in older buildings, in accordance with 40 CFR Part 761. *This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Environmental Hazard Remediation Provider & Technician Licenses.

OSHA Silica Awareness

This 4-Hour Silica Awareness course is appropriate for individuals who may be exposed to Respirable Crystalline Silica in the course of construction activities; which may include cutting, sawing, drilling, and crushing of concrete, brick, ceramic tiles, rock, and stone products. As of September 23, 2017 OSHA requires employees that may be exposed to Respirable Crystalline Silica to have awareness training. Topics covered per OSHA 1926.1153, include the fundamentals of Silica and Respirable Crystalline Silica, basic health hazards and risks related to exposure, PPE, engineering controls and safe work practices, OSHA�s permissible exposure limits, specific requirements for exposure controls, competent person, and training and record keeping. We�ve taken the time to break down these fairly new regulations to make sure you�re protected and in compliance!

Qualitative Respirator Fit Testing

A Respirator Fit Test is required at least once a year for people working in positions regulated by OSHA Respirator Standard. People should also get fit tested when getting a new mask, or after changes in facial characteristics.

Hands-on workshops included with the course consist of Lead-based Paint Inspection Methods; Lead-based Paint Sampling; Clearance Testing; and How to Prepare a Lead Paint Inspection Report. The USEPA Lead RRP Certified Renovator Initial Course is a 1-day (8-hour) course instructed in accordance with the USEPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Final Rule Model Curriculum. This course is typically intended for Home Improvement Contractors, Renovators, Remodelers, Painters, Maintenance personnel and all other workers that remove or modify painted surfaces. Students will learn how to comply with the RRP and HUD Lead Safe Housing Rules in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities; and how to perform lead-safe work practices. Hands-on workshops included with this course consist of Using EPA-recognized Test Kits, Work Area Setup, Interior and Exterior Containment, Personal Protective Equipment, Cleaning, Inspections and Verifications. *This course also meets the requirements for the Nassau County Home Improvement Contractor License.

The USEPA Lead RRP Certified Renovator Refresher is a 4-hour course instructed in accordance with the USEPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Final Rule Model Curriculum. This course is intended for USEPA Certified Renovators such as renovators, remodelers, painters, maintenance personnel and all other workers removing or modifying painted surfaces, who need to renew their licenses to continue to perform RRP work in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities.
